Big Eyes Small Mouth is a cute setting agnostic setting that give you the flexibility to create characters that allow you to play within the many fictional worlds of anime and manga! This is a fairly simple system that only has three core stats, Body, Mind, and Soul, and a few, but very open and flexible special abilities called Attributes. There's also about a dozen or so Defects, or things that impair your character, however, most of these are designed to be narrative. Big Eyes Small Mouth only has a limited number of Skills, and they all relate to combat. You have access to a variety of weapons, all broken down by category of weapon, although there are no hard and fast items actually defined for weapons. Just use your imagination! Anyway, using these building blocks, you can quickly create just about any anime or manga character you can imagine in a few minutes.

Game play is simple. Just proclaim what you want to do, assuming you've got the Attribute to do what you want to do, and add your Stat value to the Rank of Attribute, then roll two six-sided dice. If you roll UNDER or EQUAL to the combined value of Stat and Attribute Rank, you succeed! However, if you roll over this value, then you failed at the task at hand. Combat has a minor exception to this, that you use the Attack Combat Value instead of an Attribute. According to the quick Flow Chart of Combat, there is no opportunity for Defense. DCV (Defense Combat Value) only is taken into consideration during a Mind related attack.
