I know somewhere it's been stated that the magic within the world of Nanoha is based upon complex mathematical formulas that the Intelligent Magical Devices crunch through. But then I got to thinking this morning about Nanoha's journey into the realm of magic. Sure, she was a fairly bright third grader, was even attending a Prep School for University. And she was able to answer a random math question even while having a conversation amongst her friends (if I remember correctly). But, thinking about magic, and the seeing some of the complex formulas when the Book of Darkness absorbed her Linker Core, I go back to that initial introduction into magic, when Nanoha first bet Yuuno.
I guess you could argue that Raising Heart did all the heavy lifting and that all Nanoha had to do was imagine the desired effects of whatever spell she needed. And then following her magical training, until the moment she finally unleashed her first Starlight Breaker upon Fate, I'm sure it was her Device doing all the work there, right?
What are your thoughts on how magic is constructed within Nanoha?
