So, 9 months later, what became of this? Did it work out like you planned? Was it a success? What would you do differently?

I wish I was more into tech but it literally goes over my head.
I've heard of Linux but haven't tried it myself. I barely understand Windows!

So DragonBall will live on :].
I wonder if the successor will create a new spin, different take on the characters or continue on with what the original was about?
Anybody have any ideas on this?

Quote from: Senkusha on Monday, March 18, 2024, 20:31Great news!  As of April 1st, I now have health insurance again!  Now I just need to find a way to earn an extra $80 every month to pay for it.  One problem at a time.
Congrats!!
One thing I hate is that in the USA we "have" to have health insurance even if we cannot afford it. It's mandatory. But they don't make it easy to get it. & not all doctors accept insurance & may not accept YOUR insurance.
How did you go without insurance legally? I'm just curious because of the "law".

Quote from: Senkusha on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, 20:03I think that viewing at a situation through the eyes of another character allows you to feel the situation from that non-first person perspective.  A third person perspective, in my opinion, feels a few levels removed, or maybe less intimate?
I had to think on this one as I'm not used to the "side" view. Because to me, it was just the Third Person. But... it could also mean, for me anyways, indirectly. Example. The sun. We have direct sunlight but also indirect sunlight. Direct to me is Third Person. Indirect is the Side View. You won't get all the info so have to fill in the gaps.
Or am I reading too much into it? lol

Technology & Nerdy Stuff / What is your current set-up?
Last post by Senkusha - Tuesday, March 19, 2024, 07:07
I would say my system configuration isn't too high-end.  I've got an i9 cpu, RTX 3080 TI video card, dual monitor (although I rarely use the second monitor), 2 TB SSD hard drive, and a 4 TB external hard drive.  Oh, almost forgot about the fancy drawing tablet, the XenceLabs tablet for my drawing needs (that I rarely use). :nosweat:

I've got a beefy machine so that I could work with Unreal Engine and various 3D applications, however, I spend most of my time on this beast just writing stories instead.

Technology & Nerdy Stuff / Do you use Linux?

Although I don't currently use Linux, I have worked with it several years ago for multiple years.  Of the various distributions or flavors I've had the pleasure of working with, I found Ubuntu to be my favorite.  In fact, the web server that I used to administer was a console-only version of Ubuntu.

I used to have fun to see what all services I could get to run on my server.  Not only was I running the web server, but I also got a file server, print server, IRC chat server, and a Shoutcast (web radio) server running.

Another thing I really liked about Linux was that you can run Linux on a USB thumb drive.  I discovered this while in the midst of drafting a business plan on an old Acer laptop and the hard drive just died while I was typing, shutting off the laptop.  In desperation, I tried installing Linux onto the same USB drive I was installing from, and it worked!  It was really neat being able to carry my entire computer in my pocket.
