So, I saw this in one of the many Facebook Groups I frequent, and thought this might be an interesting, refreshing way to play a game.  I immediately thought of Big Eyes Small Mouth, because the Attributes system is fairly open and flexible, accomplishing this type of mechanic would be fairly easy.  But I don't see why this approach couldn't be used with other game systems.  What do you think?

Spirituality / Re: Natal Charts
Last post by Senkusha - Friday, August 16, 2024, 20:01
So, I recently upgraded Chat GPT to it's premium version, and asked it to analyze my natal chart.  It just asked for my information, no chart necessary.  This is what it told me:

QuoteThank you for providing your birth details! That's all the information I need to generate and interpret your natal chart.

I'll provide a general interpretation focusing on the major aspects of your chart:

### **Sun in Libra**
- **Personality:** Your Sun sign, which represents your core self, is in Libra. Libras are known for their sense of balance, fairness, and a strong desire for harmony. You likely have a natural charm and diplomatic nature, making you adept at navigating social situations. Relationships and partnerships are very important to you, and you might strive for equilibrium in all areas of life.

### **Moon in Virgo**
- **Emotions:** Your Moon sign, which governs your emotions and inner world, is in Virgo. This placement suggests that you have a meticulous approach to your feelings and may often analyze your emotions rather than just feeling them. You may have a strong need for order and precision in your daily life, and you might find comfort in routines and practical tasks.

### **Ascendant (Rising) in Libra**
- **First Impressions:** With Libra as your rising sign, others likely perceive you as graceful, charming, and pleasant. This doubles down on your Libra Sun's qualities, emphasizing your sociable nature and desire for peace. You probably come across as fair-minded and considerate, always striving to create a positive and balanced environment.

### **Mercury in Scorpio**
- **Communication:** Mercury in Scorpio suggests that you have a deep, intense way of thinking and communicating. You likely enjoy uncovering hidden truths and may have a sharp, probing mind. Your communication style might be direct and powerful, often getting to the heart of matters that others might shy away from.

### **Venus in Virgo**
- **Love and Relationships:** With Venus in Virgo, you express love through practical gestures and attention to detail. You may value stability and consistency in relationships, and you might be attracted to partners who are reliable and grounded. You probably show affection by being helpful and attentive to your partner's needs.

### **Mars in Leo**
- **Drive and Ambition:** Mars in Leo gives you a strong sense of pride and a desire to express yourself creatively. You might have a confident and dynamic approach to pursuing your goals, and you may enjoy being in the spotlight or taking on leadership roles. This placement can make you passionate and enthusiastic about your endeavors.

### **Jupiter in Aries**
- **Expansion and Growth:** Jupiter in Aries suggests that you grow and expand through taking initiative and being bold. You might be optimistic and confident in your ability to pioneer new projects or ideas. You likely have a strong sense of independence and may take risks in pursuit of your goals.

### **Saturn in Leo**
- **Challenges and Discipline:** Saturn in Leo can indicate that you face challenges related to self-expression and creativity. You might have a strong sense of responsibility and take your ambitions seriously, but there could be a fear of failure or not living up to your own high standards. Overcoming these challenges might involve learning to balance discipline with self-confidence.

### **Uranus in Scorpio**
- **Innovation and Change:** Uranus in Scorpio suggests that you may experience sudden changes or breakthroughs related to deep, transformative experiences. You might be drawn to exploring the unknown or unconventional aspects of life, and you could have a strong intuition that helps you navigate complex situations.

### **Neptune in Sagittarius**
- **Dreams and Inspiration:** Neptune in Sagittarius indicates that your dreams and ideals are expansive and inspired by a quest for truth and higher knowledge. You might have a strong desire to explore different philosophies or spiritual beliefs, and you could be drawn to travel or education as ways to expand your understanding of the world.

### **Pluto in Libra**
- **Transformation:** With Pluto in Libra, your generation is focused on transforming relationships and social structures. On a personal level, this placement can suggest that you experience deep changes through your interactions with others, and you might be drawn to intense, transformative partnerships.

### **North Node in Scorpio**
- **Life Purpose:** The North Node in Scorpio indicates that your life path involves embracing change, transformation, and emotional depth. You are likely here to learn how to let go of control and delve into the deeper, more intense aspects of life. This may involve moving away from a focus on material security and comfort (associated with the South Node in Taurus) and towards a more spiritually and emotionally rich existence.

### **Overall Themes:**
- **Balance and Harmony:** With both your Sun and Ascendant in Libra, balance, fairness, and harmony are central themes in your life. You may be naturally drawn to relationships and partnerships where you can create a sense of equilibrium.
- **Deep Emotions and Transformations:** The Scorpio influence in your chart (Mercury, Uranus, North Node) suggests a strong connection to deep emotions, transformative experiences, and an interest in the mysteries of life.
- **Creative Expression:** The Leo placements (Mars and Saturn) indicate that creative self-expression and leadership are important to you, but they may also come with challenges related to confidence and discipline.

This is just a general overview based on your natal chart. If you have specific questions or want to explore a particular area of your chart in more detail, feel free to ask!

General Discussion Topics / The Future of Jobs
Last post by Senkusha - Tuesday, August 13, 2024, 06:38
I believe that we, as a collective, are witnessing the end of an era.  For over a hundred years, with the advent of Capitalism and the Corporation, we as people, have subjected ourselves to working for "the Man", our boss, who is in a chain of command in a hierarchical structure.  This model has worked fairly well, so long as all the parts of this complex machine are well maintained, however, I believe that this model that many people have relied upon for generations now, has become eroded and compromised.

I've been looking for another job for the past couple of years, and while my life is not absolutely dependent upon finding a new job, my physical well-being is.  I have seen all across various social media platforms of the struggling unemployed navigate our current Job Market.  Some of the problems that I'm seeing include:

  • No training is provided.
  • Low pay/compensation.
  • Longer and longer work hours (beyond the established 40 hours per week).
  • Toxic micromanagement (a.k.a. lack of trust for employees).
  • Additional duties and responsibilities without additional compensation.
  • Companies and teams working with skeleton crews.

There are many more issues that I see with the typical job posting, and I haven't even touched on the fact that several postings aren't even for immediate hiring -- that employers are only harvesting applications to not only instill fear mongering on the current labor force, but also to have a handy list of qualified candidates at the ready for when an employee quits a toxic position.

All of these issues combined is what's going to lead to the extinction of the standard corporate model.  I'm beginning to see a trend of desperate people looking for alternative ways to secure the income that they need to just survive -- money for food, shelter, and heat.  There are many opportunities, but one thing that stands out to me is the model of conducting business is changing.  Instead of people working under a corporation, with a chain of bosses and supervisors, people are starting smaller, more grassroots businesses.  These people are working for themselves.  And while this may not be a new thing -- thousands of people have attempted to start a small business over the decades, this is becoming a more popular option, as more people who can not get hired are opting out of the corporate world.  Using technology and social media, individual people are able to start reaching out to perspective clients -- other people in need of something, and fulfill these needs. This is a community based organization model.  We now have many small, individually operated businesses satisfying the needs of people, and in the current age of Corporate Greed that is running rampant, customers are turning away from the big corporations in favor of these more flexible and smaller operations.

Now the question is, what would you like to do?  How much money do you NEED?  And, when what would give YOU satisfaction while earning an income?

I've been able to answer the last two questions.  I know that I only need about $2,500 every month to have my basic needs met, and I know that I want to help people, possibly writing computer software, but I really want to focus on a more spirituality aspect.  However, I don't know what I could actually offer people that would satisfy my desires.

General Discussion Topics / To be Verified or Not...?

So, something that you may have noticed on various Social Media sites is the Blue Checkmark.  This is called Verification.  Apparently, you have to pay a monthly fee for it.  Do you consider it worth it to be Verified?

General Discussion Topics / Media Creator?
Last post by Senkusha - Sunday, August 11, 2024, 19:36
Have you ever had a desire to create a podcast, or any kind of media content on the various social media platforms (YouTube, TikTok, DeviantArt, Threads, Twitter (X), etc)?  I ask because the tools to create our own creations is so easily available these days.

Have you created content, and if so, what have you created?  If not, if you had the time, what would you enjoy creating?

General Discussion Topics / If you could work from home
Last post by Senkusha - Thursday, August 08, 2024, 10:33
Working from home (WFH) seems to be one of the New American Dreams.  My fantasy of WFH is being able to wake up somewhat early (around 5:00 or 6:00, make a decent breakfast, eat, and start work without having to waste hours of my life commuting to my job.  While I'm working, I've got my personalized music playlist filling the bland living room (office) with background noise -- so that I don't get distracted with my wondering mindlessness syndrome (yeah, I probably just coined that!)  I'd work for a few hours -- doing what?  I honestly don't know yet!, then eat a nice quick and healthy lunch designed to give me a mental boost of concentrative energy (does that even exist? -- I know the WORD doesn't exist!)  Then I'd work for a few more hours, and log off for the day to cook a nice relaxing meal.

I know I've got the discipline to do this kind of work.  I have the home-office defined:  Two monitors, a FAST, near State-of-the-Art computer, Four-in-one laser printer, hole punch, TONS of printer paper and two spare toner cartridges, three-ring-binders, (I need a stapler).  I've got the most comfortable pink gaming chair that I KNOW I can sit in for hours without aches and pains, and it provides excellent posture.  I do think I need a better keyboard though.  The one I recently bought, I noticed that I make more typing errors on, and I think it may have something to do with the spacing of the keys.  But I have a high-grade laser mouse that absolutely rocks, plus a drawing tablet.

One problem I know I do have is that my computer is NOT wired to my Internet, it uses WiFi, by it is secured and hardened (I ONLY authorize specific devices on my router.)  It's impossible for me to connect my computer to my router via wired connection because the ONLY cable connection in the apartment is in the bedroom!  At any rate, my living room is well-lit, and my apartment is QUIET!!  I'm not sure if I don't have any neighbors or if the building is just built that GOOD, but it's nice and quiet.  And even though I'm half in the basement, the sounds from the parking lot are very muted.

So now that I've rambled on and on about my work environment and what I believe is probably a fantasy about how I would work from home, I'd still have to figure out what in the world I would actually DO!  I know I probably have some decent skills that would allow me to work remotely.  One possible job title I recently saw is Data Analyst.  I'd need Excel, SQL, and Tableau, maybe Python?  I have the first two, and while I'm a bit rusty, give me a week.  I used to write SQL queries for fun, back when I had a need to work with it, and it is my preferred database retrieval/storage method.  I'd have to start paying for Microsoft Excel again, but if my job is paying me more than I'm currently earning at $16.48 / hour, AND I don't have to commute to work, I think I can spare the $7 per month.

But what else do I think I could do?  I know that I need something that challenges me, I enjoy solving a good problem, but I don't want to get overwhelmed and begin feeling like I'm an incompetent moron.  Software engineering could be an option, but I don't feel I'm competent enough to do that.  I do enjoy learning and playing with various programming languages, but I know I suck with more advanced mathematics.

Then again, whatever I would do for work, has to be something that people actually need, and at the same time I would WANT to do.  I have a moral/ethics problem -- as I've been down the Dark Side before in life, and refuse to walk down that path of compromising my Values again.  I don't think I could do anything Sales driven though.  I see so many problems with our System of Capitalism, Consumerism, and Materialism here in the America, and the damage that it's doing to the World, and working in a role that facilitates toward that type of behavior just rubs me the wrong way.

I know whatever I want to do, I want to help people, but at the same time, I'm kinda burned out of just speaking to people -- like I can't stand being on the phone, I don't even like it when my phone rings!  I get like some kind of weird Pavlovas Dog thing that happens.  I'm even thinking of changing the ring tone from my favorite song, because I noticed that I'm liking the song less and less as time goes on -- specifically because it's tied to the response of negativity with having to answer the phone, and usually, when the phone rings, there's going to be something that invokes confrontation.  I wonder, if there is some kind of mental disorder/thingy/definition to this?

I do know that I'm going to have to work on a brand new resume.  Having over 30 years of Customer Service skills isn't going to do me a whole lot of good, when I want to transition out of that role.  I want to do something more creative.  I enjoy writing, but only fiction, really.  I know I can't draw all that well, and I'm a noob at anything 3D modeling/computer drafted.  But at the same time, I'm going to be 49 in a few months.  am I spinning my wheels for nothing?

Anyway, what would you do if you could work from home?  Maybe your ideas could give me some avenues to try?  Or, do you currently work from home, and if so, what do you do?  Thanks for allowing me to ramble!

I'm honestly SO EXCITED about this election now.  We might actually have some POSITIVE things happening in this country now!  Especially, if the House of Representatives gets cleaned out and turned BLUE.  I know there are a good number of Americans who are fed up with all the BS and crap that's been going on with Congress over the past few years.

It's time for some GOOD change!
