I have to thank DragonByte Tech for creating Manuals, an extension that allows members to view PDF's from within the XenForo navigation without the need to download the entire PDF.
We now have a library of Role Playing Guidebooks. I've moved these resources from the Store to a new section listed under Resources. I'm currently working with the Developer to add support to create discussion threads within Social Groups (Clubs) so that people can talk about the contents of the Manuals right there within the Club. Manuals is currently in a Beta version, meaning that it hasn't been officially released. I'm testing for bugs, but so far with all the various testing I've done, I haven't found any.
I've currently configured the permissions so that Regular Members can view the Teasers and Anime based Role Playing games. Note that I do not condone piracy. All of the guidebooks hosted here are out of print, or all but impossible to find. If I find a guidebook that is available from a publisher, it shall be removed from our library here. However, most of the guidebooks here originate from publishers that have gone out of business. That being said, most of the Guidebooks we have here are old-- from the 80s, 90s and earlier 2000s. Anyway, other member groups have additional privileges to add content to our library, as well as view material that's not necessarily anime centric. The groups Role Player, Starlight Vanguard, and Isekai Society all have these additional privileges.
Another feature, which I'm truly excited about is the ability to search within the Guidebooks. There's an extension that can be added to the server called pdftotext that indexes the text so that it can be searched using the search function on the forum. This would be incredibly useful for those times when you know you've read a rule somewhere, but can't remember which system or edition you read it in! I'm looking into getting this extension added with my host.
I've also begun utilizing the Tags system that XenForo has support for. This is a pretty new function to me, so bear with me as I figure out the best way to implement it. I've updated the color of Tags so they stand out more as well. If a thread has been Tagged, there will be a green word or phrase listed next to the thread title within the thread discussion, and you can click on these to bring up similar content (discussions that have the same Tag applied).
This way, now the Store will (eventually) be rebuilt to feature actual products instead of acting as a bastardized digital library. I'll be featuring my own published role playing games, such as CHIBI here, software packages that we write, as well as various anime and role playing related merch to help support the site.
Finally, speaking of Resources, this is where you'll now find the Shop, access Credits (your bank) and the Member Battles system. I consolidated these items under Resources because the main navigation was beginning to become cluttered
Have fun!
