I've been thinking about watching Ranma 1/2 again (it's been like 20 years), and I was going through an inventory of the characters in my mind. I remember there was quite a bit of fan service showcased through the anime. Things like perverted humor (Hipposai being a Panty Bandit-- being the main one I can remember), and I got to thinking, how I'm not sure any of that would be entertaining to me now.
I think that Ranma was a cute story, but I'm also wondering if maybe as we age and mature, if we outgrow some aspects of anime?
I know that there's other anime out in the world that are probably far worse when it comes to this crudeness, but I literally don't feel any appetite towards any of that.
