The Weird is a book that you can use with any role playing game. It's a book of tables, of which each entry contains something totally bizarre. For example, flipping through the book, I stumbled onto this gem (which I'm totally using, because, well, I'm totally weird!)
Page 16, Entry 36-37: Has a limited AI, calls the bearer "Daddy".
Now, this could be taken a couple of different ways.
The first way, is that the AI is limited, and this could infer that the AI is childlike, or immature, responding to the user as an authority figure, as a child would.
The second way is more BDSM oriented, and dirty-minded.'
The book breaks down being Weird into four major moods: Interesting, Surprising, Gonzo, and Whimsical. Here's four different examples talking about a typical cat:
Interesting: The cat is bright red.
Surprising: The cat can speak all human languages.
Gonzo: The cat doesn't cough up hairballs, but rather tiny robot versions of itself.
Whimsical: The cat's songs create a bridge to the moon.
Each table has these four columns, and a range based on a percentile dice (d100) is distributed along each column. Interesting may have the most entries, while Gonzo may only have a few, but the numerical value does indeed go from 1 to 100 for each column.
As I've said above, this book is a collection of tables, and as somebody who loves random roll tables, I'm planning on using this book quite a bit. Here's the lists the book contains:
