Since this is an anime fan site, many of us enjoy the occasional act of putting pencil to paper. Do you have any aspirations to learn how to draw in the manga style? What tools do you use? Have you attended any classes to learn to perfect your craft? Most importantly, what do you usually draw? What is it you would LIKE to draw?
For me, I started back in college. I took a few basic courses that taught color theory and basic fine art drawing. I used to use just a spiral bound sketch pad and my favorite pencil to draw with was a hardness of 6H. I have however, since moved toward the digital realm. I once upon a time had a Wacom tablet, but my kid dumped milk all over it (that was like a decade ago! Now I have a XenceLabs drawing tablet (it actually has an aspect ratio that matches my desktop monitor), and I tend to use a program called ArtRage Pro and Gimp.
I also dabble with 3D character modeling and game design using VRoid Studio and Unreal Engine 5 (both of these are free) and quite powerful! And occasionally, I'll use Blender, when I'm feeling really frisky.
I've purchased a few HowTo Draw Manga books, and although, I'm a fan of a lot of different anime styles, my preferred drawing style is the Chibi style. I find that I don't quite the patience, nor the hand-eye coordination for all the fine line details of normal characters, and besides, the chibi characters are just TOO CUTE! <3
