There's a number of prerequisites that must be fulfilled before you can successfully run Member Battles. Because Member Battles has been written to piggy back on functionality that has already been created by DragonByte Technologies, you'll need the following add-ons already installed:
You'll also need to configure you site. The Arena uses a special group of members, called Archived Members. You'll need a similar User Group added to your forum. Its name can be whatever you desire. Be sure to have some members added to this group.
You'll want to add a special item to your Shop. Ours is named a Battle Token, again, you may name this Shop Item anything you wish. Record the Item_ID number. This is the literal ON/OFF switch for members to participate in the Member Battles algorithm. Note: the above mentioned group (Archived Members) do not need a Battle Token.) When creating a Battle Token, you'll want to enable the Display in List, Unique Item, and Item is Always Hidden, check boxes.
You'll need to define at least two currencies in Credits. Here on Prismatica, we've got Lumia as our primary currency, and we have Arena Tokens, that are used to access the Arena/Prize Drop. Lumina are deposited into every member's account whenever they create a new post. Additional Lumina are awarded for exceptionally worded posts. Arena Tokens are awarded every time a member logs into the Prismatica site (once per day). These are an automatic currency that allows the "Prize Drop" to be displayed. This is an additional layer of activation. If a member lacks Arena Tokens, they will not be shown any Prize Drop Images.
Once you have your Arena Tokens defined, you'll need to set up a Daily Activity Event inside Credits. Currently, we have allocated five (5) Arena Tokens per daily visit. Feel free to adjust your settings.
