I'll admit, that I'm new to the world of Scrievener, but this is a piece of invaluable software that's truly life changing!
But what is Scrievener? Simply put, it's an author's BatBelt, a wet dream of utilities and functions that help authors do what they do: Write. It's an organizational tool, but you you can do so much more with it, in fact, you can write, format, rearrange, and proof your writing all in one place! And you because it's built specifically for authors, you aren't limited to what a typical Word Processor is capable of. Sure, you can write stories, full length novels, poetry, even screenplays all in one place. You can have all your notes, organized digitally however you'd need them. You have a dedicated research tab, which appears to be just a collection of smaller documents. For example, in a novel project, you can have a page for each Character, each Plot, you can even have random details! You can use a traditional Outline tool, or the Cork board tool to organize your ideas, and you write directly in the Scrievener application.
The license for the current version is only $59.00, and there's a 30 day trail that you can use to try out the program to see if it meets your needs. But, that 30 days? It's NOT consecutive. It only deducts one day whenever you open the app for that day. Meaning that you can open it on January 5th, and then not again until March 20th, and have only used two days worth of your trial! And, quite frankly, $59 is a VERY small price to pay for such an awesome software, and ethical company. And because of this ethical policy regarding their trial, I spent the $59 for the license.
Anyway, you can find it here: [link]
