So I got paid yesterday.
And I was hoping that I would have enough money to slap onto my credit card to get another year of web hosting for Prismatica. But I'm totally short. Like $65 short-- all because I was sick a couple weeks ago and had to take the day off from work. Trying to run a warehouse with Loosey Gooosey doesn't bode well for anybody.
I am going to attempt to find a free hosting provider before Tuesday, May 12, 2026. I am not thrilled about this prospect, because in previous experiences, the rendering service is slow, connections are spotty, and we'll loose A LOT of content:
The Media Library will vanish.
So will the Store.
There could be Ads.
We'll probably loose email access to.
Possible Terms of Service upgrades.
IF I happen to find a reliable free web host, the site will be down for a time period while I attempt to transfer the domain to the new host. I was truly hoping to avoid doing all of this work because, it is a lot of work. I'm looking at the possibility of at least a week of down time, perhaps even two weeks.
Another option is self hosting again, but that means an increase internet and electricity costs that I'm not very well prepared to take on right now. And that comes with it's own issues, the primary one being that I'm a bit rusty at Apache configuration.
However, if I can't locate a suitable option, Primatica will go dark until I can afford to re-up with my current host. We're looking at June, possibly July, 2026.
I've spent the day yesterday mostly in a abysmal state of depression, racking my brain to see if there was anywhere I could pull the money from-- even if only temporarily, like from my rent funds, but with the future prospects of the economy going horribly stinky, I'm not sure I want to risk the survival of my partner and I to the possibility that I'll be granted enough hours to make up any shortfalls. I see family restaurant owners every day. I see how often they come in to the store, how much they spend, and I'll be honest, the numbers are getting smaller with each week, despite inflation/price gouging.
Anyway, I'm going to prepare a script to backup the database so that I can run it on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 21:00.

I know it would suck to lose some of the features you have, but it doesn't hurt to have a fall back just in case.
