This movie has sparked all sorts of conspiracy theories about life being a simulation. It has raised awareness of the dangers of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and a real threat of where Humanity is heading if we don't "wake up".

There are four movies in total, including a short animated story, called the AniMatrix. In the Matrix the world seems like a normal place, initially, but quickly describes a deeper world buried in computer code, that with the right knowledge, you can bend the rules ever so slightly.

The story follows the main protagonist, Neo, who is ultimately declared to be The One who will change the system, ending it and saving the Doom of Humanity from the Machines.

I know I've done a poor job describing this movie, but I love it and despite having a lack of caffeine, I'll probably be back to give some better details later.

Let's talk about it!

My wife and I finally got around to watching the first film last year. We were both 9 years old when the first movie came out, but I remember my best friend really loving the film series back in the day. (He is two years younger than me. I guess 9 year old me was more into cartoons.) We plan on watching the sequels at some point. Not sure when we'll do this though.

I still think the first movie was the best of the ...what is it four? And it plot really makes you wonder sometimes if all them tin-foil hat people are right... Are we living in a Simulation?

Personally, I don't think we are.
