The Nintendo Wii

Over exageration. It isn't that big of a quality jump as he is making it out to be. Versus the PS2, then yes it is. I've watched several E3 videos as well as watched a video comparing the two platforms as well as movement. The gaming console is finally at where it should be in game quality at the same level as the Xbox 360. As well as most gaming industries are not going to be able to make full use of the power of the ps3 for quite a while. As there is a large coding change from PS2->PS3. B4 the ps2 was extremely outdated and has required a overhaul for a long time and sony has taken it's sweet time as the only thing really getting people for it is possibly lowering of console price and new games. Other than that, Xbox was better quality than Ps2 as well as Dreamcast had the PS2 beat on specs. Just gaming library led to the downfall of the Dreamcast.

Umm how is it over exaggeration?

2x512mb 600 Mhz GPU's at roughly $1200 in todays terms

a 3.6 Ghz CPU with a 1500Mhz FSB with 3 cores and a POWER instruction set. at about $800

a new, top of the line unique, specialy made Motherboard, Hard Drive, Wireless USB, USB x 2 (I think), Various outputs and a top of the line Drive.

2x512 mb are you refering to the gpu's ram?
512 MB of video ram honestly means crap in today's gaming world. There's only a few good cards that have 512 ram otherwise all the others are utter crap. The ram doesn't mean jack as it's more based upon the speeds as well as handling under pressure from : overclocking, heat, voltage, and etc...

The only good 512MB "based" video card is the BFG 7900 GTX with 512mb thats the only good character with that ram as it runs cooler than all the others as it uses less voltage to do the same job as the 7800. As well as it beats the pants off any ATI card to this day!

600mhz what, clock speed or core clock or memory speed, bandwith memory?!?!

cus in all reality it's based upon the card, (I know) PS2 is using a ATI card which is going to blow. a 1500mhz FSB is very common in AMD processors. It's probably not a real 1.5k FSB either, it's prolly a 300mhz that's got a 5x multipler. Thats what AMD does takes a lower FSB and gives it a higher multiplier by making it run faster and having a shorter life span. While Intel has a higher FSB with lower multipler....

But Heck 90% either have that or have higher around 2k. In reality it's prolly not a real 3.6 ghz it's more than likely 3x 1.2ghz processors which is actually worse than a lot of processors. The instructions codes won't be fully worked out the way it should be as most games like for PC use that run on dual core machines 90% of the time only work off one of the two cores. As games have not gotten sophicasted enough to make full use. I know there is 1 game for the PC that is going to be able to make more control of it just like the Nintendo Wii has games already set up to make use of it. As their going to have games use one othe cores to make make full control of the AI system to be used to defeat the human player as well as create different death animations which is highly creative.

When you say top of the line Drive, are you refering to "Blu-Ray" DVD drive?

"specialy made motherboard, hard drive, wireless usb, usb x 2 (i think) "

Well thats sony for you, everything's properitory. They don't make crap from themselves anymore as the new PS3 are all going to be made in China instead of Japan. So japan is going to get their PS3's after America does. Which is very different than Playstation Tradition.
Well the 360 has 3 USB ports and built in wireless USB controllers as they do normally make use of "usb" when you plug them in to either charge or use wired controllers.

But both of the ps2's are going to have component outputs which is standard on high -end graphical detail but only the higher end of the ps3 is going to give you that HDMI port. Which allows the player to experience the true quality of "BLU-RAY" otherwise it's pointless. But if you look at it though, games are ranging from 70-100 for the ps3 as estimation as well as you look you only get 1 controller and so must buy another one. And these controllers are basically same design as the older ones but more rounded like a boomerang execpt!! There is one added button in the center of the controller a "guide" button which serves the EXACT same purpose the guide button ont he 360. Can you say, COPYRIGHT? (lol)

There was alot of stuff gone into the PS3. I hope it is good as they say.

Unfortunately your quip doesn't even mention the price. So I shall reiterate, the reason that the 360's price wont come down for a while is because of the hardware costs.

When I say 600Mhz GPU's (in the xbox as that WAS the discussion point) i mean the chip running at 600Mhz.

Microsoft is making a large loss so idiots buy their machines and thus they monopolize yet another market. I was saying that a similarly equipped machine that can run graphics that are as good.

I have been following this run up to the consoles closely and i do know quite a lot about them. I just dont type as much as you.

Also the PS controllers are no longer shaped like a boomerang but they look exactly the same as the old ones minus copying the wii's motion sensing technology. Albeit inn a basic, typical crap sony way.

how much does the new nintendo system cost? I got the fist system still. It is in the box it came in. IT is down in my moms basement.

they arnt new thats the thing. (mildly different, thats all)
Yeah, you got it.

And the official word from Nintendo is "less than $250," not $200. Though several major financial groups have gone on the books saying they think it will be $200. A few Japanese websites also put up prices (pulled by now, of course) that would equate to about $150.

I'm gonna agree with the $200 crowd.

$$150 would be nice. have you all herd about the blue-ray discs tha tthe ps3 it goin ta use. 25GB from what I hear. about 5x as big as a standard DVD. 2.5x as big as a DVD-DL
