I hope that everybody is recovering after a night of exceptional partying to kiss 2025 good riddance!

What are some of your goals for the new year?

For me, I'm hoping to get at least the first draft of my role playing system completed. I also hope to get my business incorporated for the role playing game. Hopefully maybe a new job may be presenting itself to me???

Anyway, Happy New Year y'all!

Hello 2026, we are now a few months into the new year.

How's everyone new Year going thus far?

My goals thus far is to read more, stay consistent with my daily exercising, and write more on a weekly basis.

Happy belated New year to all.

With the rising cost of everything, 2026 isn't feeling that great lol. Once the gas prices come back down hopefully things will get cheaper. Other than that I'm really trying to focus on my projects and got back into working on a project I've been working on for a long time. Maybe 2026 will be the year I finally split all the code and data in my Sonic 1 Game Gear disassembly so then I can start actually identifying what code does what.

2026 isn't going great for me either.

I hope it gets better for you! I've been trying to distract myself from the rising cost of things with playing video games I already own. Also working on my projects too.
I'm doing the same as you, but I do have DVDs I'm gonna watch. My mental health has hit rock bottom for awhile because of the political circus and the news been polluting my TV.

Good morning!

Yeah, I don't watch television anymore. I really haven't since about 2022. Mostly I just watch anime that I have downloaded over and over and over again. And then I'll write when I have the energy to.

The entire political.... catastrophe that the United States Government is causing is certainly very stressful. I know that things will get better, because everything in Life is only temporary. That's about the only amount of hope that I still have remaining. Hope that people will finally wake up and see through all the manipulation and lies that they fell for. I try not to be judgemental, although it's hard, because we're all suffering because of some uninformed people, that and willful apathy. Or, even perhaps that the Election was indeed tampered with-- but we'll probably never really know.

At any rate, I know that no body is coming to save us, unlike the Germans last century. There are no heroes to save our day. We have to be the ones to fix this mess, and as each day passes, the more unlikely that it seems the resolution will be all that peaceful. We have to stop fighting with each other on stupid divisions (sports teams, political affiliations, wealth, religion, sex, gender, ethnicity, etc) The true problem is that it's taken us like a hundred years to get to this point. And it'll take another hundred years to get to a point to where we no longer have greedy corporate CEOs and Shareholders. Where people collectively come together and form thriving communities, and we elect responsible people who actually are compassionate about the planet, and our survival as people.

As much as people may want a revolution, or think that another civil war is the answer-- taking the reins of power by force, the truth is that such a tactic would never work. Not against a hardened, militarized police force who is loyal to only the extreme wealthy-- because that's who pays them, not us citizens through taxes. They are all corrupted.

Anyway, I'm rambling, but I wanted to basically say that this is temporary. This too shall pass. All the agony we're facing, will end. Right now, all we gotta do is keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward. Do small things-- things that may seem totally insignificant in the grand scheme of the world, that helps people. Because that's how we're going to get out of this mess. A collective force of small things that helps individuals. That builds community, and will eventually overthrow the wealthy parasites out of power.

So today is my day off, my Saturday! Today, I'm hoping to do some more character work, and I really need to sit down and dream up a plot for the Sailor Moon game that's starting up. 😅

I'm worried about my aging computers and this terrible computer market. Between rising costs and companies calling everything AI to try and trick me into buying something I don't want, I'm hoping my computers last longer than this does?

Noooo, and the things going up in prices are things like RAM, CPU, and GPUs. Not stuff you can assemble yourself.

It's not all that difficult. Most things are slotted specific. It's literally fool-proof these days.... But yeah, the cost of RAM, especially, is going through the roof, thanks to AI and the craving for Data Centers.

I plan to keep my computer equipment for a few more years. I'll migrate back over to Linux before too long. There's NO WAY I'm supporting a Windows OS that has a subscription attached to it.

I actually migrated to Linux a couple of weeks ago. c: It's been rough, but I was really angry at Windows for bricking my operating system and being too incompetent to fix itself without wiping the hard drive. All its fancy tools failed with useless errors and Microsoft's customer support is AI which is useless for anything a search engine couldn't tell me anyway. ;o;

Believe it or not Ubuntu fell out of favor a few years ago? Nowadays people are recommending stuff like Mint, Bazzite, Fedora. But yeah it was entirely Windows fault and I just lost trust in it.

I use Ubuntu and Windows 11 on my computer. I do recommend Linux Mint too if you're more familiar with Windows since it's layout is pretty similar. I hated Windows 10 because it would never update properly on two laptops that I own, and I had to reinstall it on one and the other one needs a reinstall but I want to restore the laptop and just install Linux on it instead.
